Armorial Scottish Architectural Art Duke of Gordon17c
This imporant plaque was removed from The Duke of Gordons house, Castle Hill, Edinburgh when it was demolished in 1887. The wood of the frame is also from the house. The plaque depicts a classical quiver with arrows, spear, Sword, shield, sporran etc. The colours are quite suttle Reds, Gold, Greens, Brown etc. One end piece of the frame is missing but will be included if I can find it. The plaque hung in Swanton Abbott Hall, Norfolk which I purchased over Forty Five years ago. It has been stored for about Twenty Eight years now since I sold the Hall. The plaque is very heavy and defenately needs two strong people to lift it. I consider this piece to be worthy of a place in the Finest collections of Scottish history. Due to the size and the weight of this plaque, Please do contact for a delivery quote Quotation. Size~ Length 105.5cm (41 1/4"inches) Height 44.5cm (17 1/2"inches)
