| 17th Century Chinese Provincial Pottery ‘Panel’ Bowl c1650. This attractive bowl has seven panels, decorated with stylised fruiting vines. The inner rim has a border literally of upright dashes within a double line border. Inside are stylised Lotus flowers within a thick border. The foot has attached sandy grit which occurred after glazing. As with all Chinese pieces of this period the glaze is crazed but generally in good condition. I really like these pieces because of their basic earthily, simple charm. They leave one to imagine the potter was a happy person, making a pot roughly to a hand drawn pattern but also adding their own interpretation. Size: 17.5cm Diameter. 7.5cm tall. | ||||||||||||||
