Description: A Blanc De Chin or DeHua tripod censer was in unique purplish-red glaze. It was very rare to find a Blanc De Chin piece in such glaze. Most of them were in pure white. The body clay revealed at the tips of the foot and inside was in dense-feel quality which was consensus to the quality of Dehua wares. The censer was mold in decent look and was preserved in perfect condition. Some glazing imperfections were found at the bottom of the surface. It was tilted in some way but distracting nothing of the beauty. All of them were happened during manufacturing. Date: Ming Dynasty, 15th/16th century. Width: 8.8cm,Height: 7.3cm. |
