Vintage stained wood Cheese box decorated in Meyercord decal by Peter Hunt. This box is of 1950's era, with decal of the same era. Mr. Hunt was commissioned by Meyercord Decal to create these decals circa 1951. Fine condition, the box has some small areas of paint residue from one point or another on its lid. Measures 16" in diameter, 7" high.
Peg Hall, Scituate Massachusetts teacher of Tole painting and Author of a book on the subject. Mrs. Hall is quite refined in her approach to the folk art of Tole painting, and this fine tin plate, with details of strawberrys and tendrils, is exceptionally well executed. Plate Measures 10" in diameter, excellent condition. circa Mid 1950's.
Circular Overlap Pantry Box, tole decorated, by Scituate Massachusetts folk artist Peg Hall, circa 1950. Peg Hall has written a now out of print book on the subject of Tole painting. Lovely floral details in pastel to the boxes lid. Good condition, some flaking to the paint in its white areas and a light stain. Their are additionally two holes, to each side of the box, artist executed, either to make the box able to hang or carry by a ribbon, now lost. 8 and 1/2" diameter.
Finely rendered Miniature Eglomise scene, depicting Independance Hall and Mountain Laurel. Mountain Laurel is the State Flower of Pennsylvania. Being a folk art piece which is undated, I suspect this to be a Vintage item versus an Antique. Evidences a small chip on the side right to the glass, with loss to the paint, which is a minor flaw to the piece. Image size is 4"H X 3 and 1/2"W, and within its distressed silver gilt wood frame, measures 7"H X 6 and 1/2"W.
