Late 18th c or early 19th c Spanish carved wood religious figure with long hair and a beard wearing robes and a cloak with traces of polychrome, probably Jesus or one of the apostles. Condition is good with the loss of a hand and an arm. Height of the santos with new wooden base is 9.5" The base is 3.5" across the front and 2.5" deep.

19th century French bronze stand with crenellated edge on four legs with animal's paw feet, possibly used as a small stove for warming food. Condition is good. Height is 6.5" The base is 6" from foot to foot.

19th century carved and polychromed wood figure of Saint Vincent Ferrer, so popular in Latin America and the Philipines. He wears the typical Dominican friar's monastic tonsure and black and white habit. His wings are gone, but he still sports the remains of a metal halo. He holds his arm up in blessing and stands on a blue cloud. Total height with the newer wood base is 15" The base is 5.5" across the front and 3.5" deep. Carved wood religious figure of a bearded bishop saint wearing a miter, flowing chasuble and the pallium. One hand is over his heart; the other holds what looks like a loaf of bread. He also holds a staff. The statue is 11.5" tall with a base of 3.25" across the front and 3" deep. Condition is good except for the loss of the bottom of one of the strips of cloth which hang from the back of the miter.

19th century Grand Tour figure of the Roman god, Mercury, or in the Greek, Hermes, with winged feet and helmet holding a sword and shield. He balances on one foot on a black metal column with gilt metal base and cap. On the cap are the symbols of the caduceus, a staff with intertwined snakes, a star and a cornucopia or horn of plenty. The figure is painted black with traces of gold showing through. Total height of the base and statue is 16" The base is 4.5" square.

Polychrome and gilt wood, carved and gesso figure of a gladiator, probably from an 18th century Italian creche. Condition is good with some chips and the loss of the left forearm. The new, ebonized wood base measures 6" across the front and 5.5" deep. Total height of the statue with base is 20"

Late 19th or early 20th century carved wood religious statue of the virgin-martyr, Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Very popular in the Middle Ages, she is here shown wearing a crown upon very long hair and holding a sword and wheel, the instruments of her martyrdom. The figure is 9.5" tall; the base measures 4.5" across the front and 3" deep. Condition is good except for some loss of the points of the crown, her nose and a finger and the hilt of the sword.

19th century Latin American or Philipino carved wood santo of a female saint, probably a virgin martyr, with long hair and a hand over her heart. The new wood base measures 4" wide x 3" deep x 1" high. Total height of santos and base is 11" Condition is good except for the loss of the right hand, a split in the back and and below the left shoulder.

19th century polychromed wood statue, probably from Latin America or the Phillipines, depicting Saint Vincent Ferrer wearing the black and white Dominican friar's habit and the monastic tonsure. The figure retains one wing and stands on a cloud. The size of the new wood base is 5.5" wide x 4.5" deep x 1.5" high. The total height of the santo with base is 13" Condition is good with the loss of both hands and some of the polychrome.
