He wears the typical Dominican friar's monastic tonsure and black and white habit. His wings are gone, but he still sports the remains of a metal halo. Carved wood religious figure of a bearded bishop saint wearing a miter, flowing chasuble and the pallium. One hand is over his heart; the other holds what looks like a loaf of bread. He also holds a staff. The statue is 11.5" tall with a base of 3.25" across the front and 3" deep. Condition is good except for the loss of the bottom of one of the strips of cloth which hang from the back of the miter.
Polychrome and gilt wood, carved and gesso figure of a gladiator, probably from an 18th century Italian creche. Condition is good with some chips and the loss of the left forearm. The new, ebonized wood base measures 6" across the front and 5.5" deep. Total height of the statue with base is 20"
Late 19th or early 20th century carved wood religious statue of the virgin-martyr, Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Very popular in the Middle Ages, she is here shown wearing a crown upon very long hair and holding a sword and wheel, the instruments of her martyrdom. The figure is 9.5" tall; the base measures 4.5" across the front and 3" deep. Condition is good except for some loss of the points of the crown, her nose and a finger and the hilt of the sword.

Pair of French late 19th century gilt metal covers for candlesticks or torches carried by acolytes in a religious procession. The covers are very architectural with gothic arched windows, trefoils, crenellations and surmounted by a cross. Both are identical except for a small bottom piece on one which raises it 1 inch to 12 inches. The bases of both are 2.5" by 2.5"
