Small French bronze statue of a muscular barechested and barefoot young man wearing a hat and trousers. The tag on the front says Faucheur par A Gaudez H.C. Salon de 1899; a loose translation from the French: the Reaper by A. Gaudez (1845-1936) probably exhibited at the HC Salon of 1899. The signature of the artist is near the man's left foot. Condition is very good except that the piece he held in his hands is gone. Height is 7.5"

French statue in bronze of a muscular, almost nude man trying to move a rock with a long pole. You can see his muscles straining, as he puts all his weight on the pole, to move the rock. The base is signed Luc. Height to top of pole is 12.5" Base is 13" x 4" Condition is excellent.
