Framed continental oil on canvas of the Apostle John the Divine, the Beloved Disciple, writing with a quill pen the fourth gospel of the New Testament. The inkpost is held by his symbol, an eagle. A plaster statue of Saint Mary Magdalene holding a jar of ointment has been covered with a mother-of-pearl-like plastic coating and ornamented with small jewels. The base is decorated with two courses of pearls and one of diamonds. A plaster statue of the Virgin Mary holding the child Jesus has been covered with a mother-of-pearl-like plastic coating and ornamented with small jewels at her feet and in her crown. A silver metal or white metal statue of a child dancing with a tambourine, probably a gas fixture or lamp in another life. The base has 2 old pipe connections, and the figure itself has a small hole in the head (see last picture). Condition is good with some minor loss of the patina. The statue is connected to the base by a small screw which allows it to lean in various ways. Height is 10.25"

Pair of altar candlesticks with triangular bases from Mexico or South America. On one side is a Madonna and Child; on another the Agnus Dei or Lamb of God with the seven seals of the Apocalypse; the third side is a simple grill design.
