| Beautifully painted oil on board signed WA vd Salm. On the back is a copy of a page from a list of artists with biographies in Dutch or Flemish. The Salm entry is outlined. William Anthony van der Salm was born in The Hague on November 11, 1918 and died in Amsterdam on May 18, 1965. The rest of the entry is difficult for me to translate, so here it is in the original: Wonde en werkte in Den Haag, Rotterdam tot 1952, daarna in Amsterdam. Van beroep reklame-ontwerper. Tekenaar en ontwerper, o.m. van postzegels. Het Nederlandse Postmuseum Den Haag: ontw, Ded. Kinderpostzecls, 1939. Size with frame is 18.5" by 14.5" Size of painting itself is 15.5" by 11.5" Condition is excellent. | ||
