| Beautiful oil painting on copper of a female saint wearing a crown and medieval style cloak and dress, holding in her right hand the palm of martyrdom and taking an arrow from an angel in her left hand. Her bodice is fastened with a clasp in the shape of cherub with wings. This is probably Saint Ursula, the patron saint of young girls and teachers. The frame is ebonized wood: 13.5" x 15" x 2" thick. Copper panel is 6.5" x 8.5" Painting is in excellent condition with just one small loss of paint to the far left above the palm. Frame has nicks and some wear to the ebony finish. | ||
