This vase by Annikki Hovisaari is beautifully shaped and glazed. Made for Arabia, Finland it's circa 1950s-60s (Hovisaari worked for Arabia from 1949-1974). It stand eight inches tall and has a lustrous and subtly variegated glaze of brown, taupe, and maroon shades. Stunning piece.
This beautifully decorated art deco vase is by the Ditmar Urbach factory which closed in 1938. To me this also has elements of the art nouveau. The colors are vibrant and the piece is in excellent condition. Though unmarked it does have a model number which I am told dates it to 1937. It is 10 inches tall.
Tall faience vase decorated in yellow, black, green and white. The tiered top portion is simply adorned with stripes and chevrons of color. In the lower portion, while the patterns are still geometric they are more fluid and contrasting. This firm, located in the town of Orchies was noted for their faience. The vase is just shy of 12 1/2 inches tall and is in excellent condition with some crazing.
Studio pottery vase by Horst Kerstan who is considered one of the major ceramic artists of the 20th century. He studied with Richard Bampi in Kandern and then took over his studio when Bampi died in 1965. This piece has a beautifully applied crystalline glaze of contrasting backgrounds and is just over 6" tall. Excellent condition.

Wonderful, mid century vase by Lu Klopfer. This pattern with it's vibrant color palette is probably his best known and was done in many sizes and shapes. Reminiscent of Guido Gambone, he may very likely have been influenced by him. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall and is in excellent condition.(one glaze pop incurred during production)

Wonderful and rare tile by H Schaffenacker who established his studio in 1948 in Ulm, Germany. He created many striking ceramic vases and the designs of his tiles/wall plaques vary from the completely abstract to highly stylized figures of horses, people, fish and other forms found in nature. This piece I believe is somewhat rare and is not listed in the Schaffenacker catalog in M.P. Thomas' "Deutsche Kerami ...click for details
This red glazed ceramic vase has a stunning shape. Produced by Jopeko, a family run ceramics firm in operation since 1884. According to Fat Lava "Forms tend to be strong and modern, with clean lines and geometric shapes." That certainly describes
this piece. It is 10 inches tall and 23 inches in circumference at its widest. Very strong accent piece that would work with many types of decor. Excellent condition.

Glass decanter by Holmegaard, Denmark in the Cluck-Cluck design. The sides of this blocky shaped decanter look like they have collapsed or been squeezed inward. It's a teal blue and is 104" tall and 3 1/2" wide. This design comes in various sizes and colors including a bent version. Excellent condition. It is unsigned, which is typical for Holmegaard, it probably had a label on it when it was first purchased.
