This beautifully decorated art deco vase is by the Ditmar Urbach factory which closed in 1938. To me this also has elements of the art nouveau. The colors are vibrant and the piece is in excellent condition. Though unmarked it does have a model number which I am told dates it to 1937. It is 10 inches tall.
Wonderful, art deco ceramic vase from Czechoslovakia. Quintessential design, with a glossy black glaze, this piece is 7 1/4" tall, 22 1/2 inches in circumference at the widest point. Very versatile, and in excellent condition.
This modernist vase is by Livia Gorka, a major figure in Hungarian avant garde ceramics. Daughter of the renowned Geza Gorka, Livia was certified a master potter in 1947. Her designs often feature objects from nature but are also frequently abstract as with this piece. It is 9 3/8 inches tall, signed and in excellent condition. If you google her you will find quite a bit of information and other examples of her work in galleries.
