These Victorian silver earrings have a Maltese cross type of shape attached to the underlying circular element giving the earrings greater depth. They appear to have their original pierced earring findings. It looks like they had another element suspended from them at one time based on the rear construction. In great condition they measure 7/8" in diameter and hang 1 1/2 inches. Unmarked but tests for sterling.

This Victorian silver Mizpah locket is an antique treasure. While Mizpah brooches are quite common and rings to a lesser extent, it's unusual to see a locket. The front is plain with a large stylized letter M with the remainder of the word superimposed. The back has an embossed floral design and the letters FD engraved in the center. Inside are two pictures of a young woman. Since these were exchanged as tokens of love, perhaps she gave this to her beau when he went off to war. ...click for details
