This appealing early twentieth century oil on canvas depiction of a horse and four fox hounds in a landscape is signed L. Parata by the artist lower left. The artist is a very skillful animal painter and has not included the huntsman, instead choosing to concentrate on the horse and the hounds and their position in the clearing. Dimensions: 29-3/4 x 22 inches, sight size; 30-3/4 x 22-1/2 inches in nice gilded frame. This is a nice and reasonably priced piece of sporting art.
