S. KIRK & SON CO. STERLING BUTTER TUB c1905-1910
This sterling silver butter dish (actually a butter tub) was made by Samuel Kirk & Son Co. between 1905 and 1910. Stamped with S KIRK & SON CO, 925/1000 and the number 2376, the butter tub and underplate weigh a total of 18.13 troy ounces. The lid measures 7-3/4 x 5-1/4 inches and is graced with a gorgeous turn-of-the-century period monogram. The plate is 8-1/2 x 5-3/4 inches. Together they meaasure 4 inches in height. Goodlooking and serviceable, this butter dish comes from one of America's premier silver houses.
