| This great Jack Daniel advertising figure depicts the founder of the Tennessee whiskey distillery in his hat and coat, with his birth and death dates and his name painted on a plinth. The painted wooden figure measures 17-3/4 inches including the base, which measures 5 x 4-3/4 inches. In 1905 Jack Daniel had trouble opening his safe one day at work. Frustrated because he had difficulty remembering the right combination, he kicked the safe, resulting in a toe injury that later became infected. He eventually died six years later from blood poisoning attributable to the mishap. Had he known, he could have just dipped his toe in his famous whisky to ward off infection! | |||||||||||
