Open lariat necklaces (sautoire) was popular with celebrities and artists. Lariats resemble a thin beaded scarf. They can be worn looped, long, tied in the front, or draped down the back. This is circa 1920s and probably made of Czechoslovakian glass beads braided.

This genuine malachite graduated bead necklace has a vivid hue often banded with black. It is 22" long.

The famous mines of King Solomon in Wadi Arabah were an important source of malachite. Malachite is a hydrous copper carbonate. It was prized by the Egyptians and by the house of Faberge in Imperial Russia.
