Fine and rare late Ming period, 17th century, Chinese cloisonne moon flask. The moon flask is a visually appealing form and one seen in many form of Chinese art. Thick, circular body, slender shoulder to cylinder form neck. Thick, well formed rims, and gilt base. Both features characteristic of late Ming cloisonne. Monumental, eighteen inches, late Meiji Japanese cloisonne covered jar. The artist depicts three ducks in stream, surrounded by beautifully shaded water lillies. Domed lid with two artistically shaded birds in flight, and single butterfly. Enamelled finial, decorated with fourteen petal Imperial Chrysanthemum.
