Chinese Cloisonne Moon Flask Late Ming

Fine and rare late Ming period, 17th century, Chinese cloisonne moon flask. The moon flask is a visually appealing form and one seen in many form of Chinese art. Thick, circular body, slender shoulder to cylinder form neck. Thick, well formed rims, and gilt base. Both features characteristic of late Ming cloisonne. Richly decorated in scrolling fire lotus and vine designs, in classic Ming colors. Softly curved handles, ending in leaf form "joins" at the shoulder. Handle center and each leaf enameled as well. The flask in seven inches tall and four and one half inches at the widest. One leaf join, loose, but stable, some small areas of loss and a fragile area near lower base, wire work intact. A fine example of 17th century Chinese cloisonne in a desirable form, for the discerning collector.
