This vase bears the usual C.Greber signature, and is also marked "France". Exceptional Jaf Kurd bag front, last quarter of the nineteenth century, in excellent condition (oxidization of the lighter brown between the diamonds creating the usual, and desired, sculptured pattern, otherwise full pile, complete ends and sides). The wool is silky and soft, the handle loose, the weave tighter than average. The organization of the diamonds in the field is balanced, and the overall impression is of symmetry. Unusual and rare French Art Nouveau vase by Jean Langlade (1879-1928) in tones of greenish bronze, beige, and brown. This vase in great condition measures approximately 6" high and 5 1/2" across at its widest. It is fully signed "Langlade" and numbered "157". Antique Uzbek Jajim, very finely woven, natural dyes, dating from the very early part of the 20th century, in good overall condition (minor restorations, minor damage to the edges). This jajim (aka Gadjari Bugjama from Surhandariya) measures 62" by 68". It was probably used as a coverlet for bedding in the yurt. One of 3 jajims currently in our inventory.

Antique Kirghiz wedding chain-stitch embroidery on black velvet, in the traditional format (3 embroidered borders surrounding a central silk ikat panel). This type of textile was used as ornament for the tent or yurt. This particular example measures 55" by 131", and is in generally good condition--minor restoration would help but is not imperative. Late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
