Beautiful pitcher by Greber, from Beauvais, France, dating from around 1910, in excellent condition. It is signed with the stamped incised Greber mark, and measures almost 8" in height.

SOLD 

Unusual and exceptionally large pottery vase or bowl by Gilbert Metenier (France), from the late Art Nouveau Period, circa 1920, in excellent condition. This "gres flamme" is signed with the incised (rather than stamped, which is more usual) "G.Metenier" mark. It measures approximately 9" across and 8" in height. Number 920 in the "Gres d'Art Metenier" catalog from 1930.

Beautiful vase by Charles Greber, from around 1900, bearing his hand incised signature (rather than the more usual stamped signature), in excellent condition. This vase, which is 5 1/2" high, is illustrated in the Greber exhibition catalogue of September 94 (Les Greber, Une Dynastie des Artistes), page 163, #133.

Very unique oblong two-handled "jardiniere" (for lack of a better word) by Charles Greber, dating from around 1900-1910, in excellent condition. It bears Charles' incised signature in script (rather than his more usual stamped signature) as well as "France". It is approximately 8 1/2 inches long. We also currently have a smaller version of this "jardiniere" in stock. Please ask for photos.

Oversize French Art Pottery (Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts) vase, circa 1910-1920, by Gilbert Metenier. This three-handled vase in excellent original unrestored condition measures 13 1/2" in height and close to 8" at its widest. It is signed with Metenier's inscribed mark on the bottom. An exceptional piece by this rare potter born in 1876 and active until 1939, when he destroyed his molds. He is specially known for his "Metenier blue glaze". French Art Nouveau three-handled vase, circa 1910, signed C. Greber (Charles Greber, active in Beauvais, France, from 1899 to 1933), and marked "France". The vase is 4" high and 5 1/2" wide. Excellent condition. Ref: in "Estampille. L'objet d'art", 1997, #315, "Le bestiaire de gres de Charles Greber." Extremely rare Haviland double vase, circa 1870, with Barbizon style paintings on both sides, signed with artist's cipher under glaze and with paper label. The artist's monogram is for Emile-Justin Merlot (1839-1900), one of the artists sponsored by C.E. Haviland in his artist's studio to experiment with painting on ceramic.
