Exceptional Jaf Kurd bag front, last quarter of the nineteenth century, in excellent condition (oxidization of the lighter brown between the diamonds creating the usual, and desired, sculptured pattern, otherwise full pile, complete ends and sides). The wool is silky and soft, the handle loose, the weave tighter than average. The organization of the diamonds in the field is balanced, and the overall impression is of symmetry. Antique Uzbek Oyna Halta (mirror bag), circa 1900, in good overall condition (minor damage to the embroidery). This unusual bag comes from the Nurata region. Its face is silk chain-stitch embroidery over black velvet, with cotton back. All the dyes appear natural. The measurements are 13" by 14".

Antique Uzbek Jajim, very finely woven, natural dyes, dating from the very early part of the 20th century, in good overall condition (minor restorations, minor damage to the edges). This jajim (aka Gadjari Bugjama from Surhandariya) measures 62" by 68". It was probably used as a coverlet for bedding in the yurt. One of 3 jajims currently in our inventory.
