Large early original charcoal drawing by Elizabeth Osborne (American, Pennsylvania, born 1936). This work is signed "Osborne" and dated "66" l.r. It measures 32" by 26" in its original frame. Originally purchased from the Socrates Perakis Gallery in 1967 (Osborne's earliest solo shows were at the Perakis Gallery, in 64 and later 67). Kearns, a AIC graduate has taught in numerous venues. Original charcoal on paper by Fred Berger, a 20th century Chicago painter and academic who exhibited and won prizes at the AIC in 1960 and 1961. He also taught life-drawing at the American Academy of Art in Chicago in the seventies and eighties. Fred Berger specialized in allegorical figurative compositions, and this work, as well as the other by this artist currently offered on this site, are very representative of this style.
