Original oil painting on canvas board, dating from the thirties or forties, by Miklos Mihalovits (Hungary, 1888-1960). This painting is in excellent condition. It measures roughly 8" by 11 1/2" outside of its frame. It is signed l.r. "Mihalovits M." in the artist's distinctive script. Mihalovits is a well listed artist of the Hungarian school who is known for his nudes and Orientalist genre scenes. Well collected and exhibited.

It also carries an original gallery label from the Galleria Borghi, which was located on 50th Street in New York City. An intriguing quasi-surreal depiction of a broken doll on a beach. Circa 1960s.
