Extremely rare antique Caucasian long rug (44" x 96"), last quarter of the 19th century, in good overall condition, some oxydisation of the browns, selvedges redone. This rug was created in the area of Shusha in the Karabagh area. Cf. "Rugs and Carpets of the Caucasus--The Russian Collections", Illustration 103, for a rug with that unusual variation on the Tree of life design.
