Large and exceptional two-handle vase by Georges Ponsart (1892-1969). Ponsart worked in Bouffioulx, Belgium, where he created salt-fired art pottery in the manner of Guerin, Aubry, etc. This vase is 26cm high and approximately 24cm across. In excellent condition. Large (32cm) and fine vase (salt-fired, gres flamme) by Auguste Frere (1889-1983) who worked in the workshops of Willem Delsaux, Roger Guerin, etc, where he produced fine art pottery. Oversize deep plate or platter, with sculptured bird by Jorgen Mogensen for Royal Copenhagen (Jorgen Mogensen was with RC from the late forties through 1964) This piece dates from the early sixties and measures roughly 12 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/2" in depth. Fully marked, including paper label and inscribed JM for the artist. We currently have another plate with bird motif by the same artist, also Royal Copenhagen.
Wonderful early vase by Pierre Greber, dating from around 1935, in excellent condition. This unusual vase is 8 1/2" high and is very reminiscent of Charles Greber's Art Nouveau pieces. It is signed with the "Greber" incised signature in script Pierre borrowed from his uncle.
Very large vase by Pierre Greber, dating from around 1950 when he produced his famous "bronzed ceramics", with a metallic glaze on a black background. This vase in excellent condition measures approximately 11 1/2" high and is signed with the incised "Greber" signature Pierre borrowed from his uncle Charles.
