| Original oil painting on canvas by Don Fink (American, Minnesota, born 1923 in Duluth). This painting is in excellent condition and measures 26" by 22" unframed. It is signed and dated (1950) l.r. and still bears an exhibition label, from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' 36th Annual Exhibition, which also provides the title of the work: "Caverns of Thought". Don Fink was born in Minnesota but moved to Europe in the early fifties. He was first based in Paris where he was a member of the "Jeune Ecole de Paris" (with Appel, Hundertwasser, Tapies, etc.) and later moved to Barcelona. Don Fink is a well collected, exhibited, and listed artist with auction records to $24,000. Provenance: from a Denver estate.
