| Original oil painting on canvas by Jerry Farnsworth (American, 1895-1983) offered in excellent original condition. This painting measures 30" by 24" (canvas alone) and 36" by 30" in its original frame. It is signed middle right Farnsworth, and signed and titled ("Artist at Rest") on a brass plaque, on the stretcher, and again on a gallery label from Grand Central Galleries in NY which also lists the original price. Farnsworth is a well-known artist, with paintings at the Met and at the Whitney in New York, etc. He studied with Charles Hawthorne, was a member of the National Academy of Design, and taught at the Arts Students League. | |
