| Original oil painting on canvas by William Fletcher Jones (American,1930-1996). This painting is offered in excellent original condition. It is signed "William Fletcher Jones" and dated "1981" upper right. It also bears an inscription on the stretcher indicating a possible location: "Port [Fort?] Huron, from the Bay", and a price: "$225". It measures 12" by 16" (painting alone) and 17" by 21" in its frame. William Fletcher Jones was once called "...Richmond's favorite artist for 40 years..." He is well listed, exhibited, and represented in museum collections (Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond--all in Richmond; Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia,etc.) He was represented by the Ginger Levit Atelier in Richmond, the Waverly and Barazansky galleries in New York, Galerie 21 in Paris, etc. | |
