Wonderful antique French Art Nouveau opera glasses telescopic handle (lorgnette), enamelled with a winged cherub holding butterflies on fine threads, made circa 1900. The handle measures un-extended approximately 16.5 cm and extended measures approximately 26 cm. The sprung loaded glasses holder is stamped ‘Patent G.P. BTE S.G.D.G.’. The enamel is also signed with the monogram ‘LM.’. The enamel has some chips to the end, which can be seen in the photographs and which I have indicated with arrows ...click for details
