Heavy Chinese brass/bronze repousse box. The interior is wood-lined with a single divider. The top of the box is hinged with a chain limiting motion on one side. There is a one inch linear crack in the base of the box, see photo.
This Han Dynasty Bronze Tomb Stove (206 B.C-220 A.D.) is quite rare in bronze. It is 9" long, 5" tall at the Flue and 5 3/4" wide - There is an animal face at the Flue tip. Minor damage. Greenish brown patina.
