Sophisticated piece of American studio pottery from James McKinnell (1919-2005) of Colorado. Skillfully thrown, this cylindrical vase is crafted from a stoneware body and features a simple wax resist linear design in two vertical panels on a metallic oxide ground with deep mossy green patches that subtley blend in a random fashion. Terrific 1950s vintage studio pottery vase by California artist Frank O. Hamilton. Expertly thrown, this attractive closed form vase has a deeply carved surface covered by a beautiful, rich glaze of denim blue with small speckling. As per VaseFinder, Hamilton exhibited at the Syracuse Nationals in 1954 and 1956. Size/Condition: Measures about 6.25"x 4.75". In excellent, undamaged condition, no chips or cracks. Signed as seen in the photo, undated.

Outstanding art pottery Japanese studio sake or teapot, artist unknown...probably made within the last 50 years. Very skillfully thrown vessel with an applied spout, handle and well fitted lid. Hand painted, highly ornate festive patterns of red spirals, accented by random color brush strokes and dots of green, having metallic gold glaze accents. Fabulous! Excellent and seldom seen piece of pottery by New Jersey artist Rodney Rouse (1903-1977). Statuesque, classically shaped baluster vase, moldmade of a porcelain body and featuring a jaw-dropping brilliant and bright gloss yellow glaze, subtley accented by faint, chemically induced faux crazing lines. Quirky and charming studio art pottery vase by David Morris of PAZ Studio, Sausalito, CA. Wheel thrown stoneware squat form, featuring a ring of six sculpted and applied monkey heads that complete the anatomically correct sgraffito bodies incised into the surface. Finished with an excellent gloss glaze of blended earthy brown into brown grey. A wonderful piece. Size/Condition: Measures about 4.5"x 2.75". Excellent undamaged condition. Excellent mid-century brutalist bird sculpture in the style of Fantoni, possibly from Italy and dating to the 1960s/70s. Simple and stylized narrow form of two halves welded together with weld or solder line details, heavily patinated with a tactile surface. Mounted in a wood base. Excellent antique cast bronze bell, possibly Russian or Italian origin, dating to the 17th century, maker not known. Classic form with the exterior decorated with two cherubs and another figure with a farming implement (?) and a series of words below. Size/Condition: Measures 6" tall. Fabulous Italian art glass ewer likely made by Artisti Barovier or Fratelli Toso (see "Venetian Glass", Barr, p88), circa 1900 (+/-). Finely crafted, this piece is blown of a subtly spotted red and green blended glass with graceful lines and delicate weight. Gold leaf is speckled throughout the ewer, including the clear, applied handle. Size/Condition: Measures 10.25". Minor little production variations (tool marks, tiny inclusions). No chips or cracks. Unmarked, undated.
