Excellent large glass sculpture of a hippo by Italian glass artisan Pino Signoretto...probably 1980s or 90s vintage. This is a very attractive piece...a stylized, near cubist quality to the accurate rendering of the animal with lots of polished facet cuts that add a cool optical quality. Dramatic art glass vessel by artist Tom McGlaughlin (1934-2011). A most striking piece, it's blown from a ghostly pale yellow white glass with a central void, surrounded by a series of six chambers that open at the bottom, each having a frosted and subtley iridized interior.
