This powerfully modeled horse,standing foursquare on a rectangular base with its head slightly turned to the left,harnessed
in a green bridle with a tan saddle&green saddle bags,all sitting on a beautifully fringed blanket.The long mane is thick and bushy and stands up almost vertically on a body that is straw glazed in color. This wonderful drum shaped Chinese pottery teapot is signed on top of the lid and well as on the base.(please note photo enlargements #5 and #6)The two rows of Chinese writing are translated as follows,"Love to enjoy drinking a cup of tea at night,no other thing can replace this favorite." The word Taancha is Cantonese slang meaning,"enjoy drinking tea."
