A superb Chinese scholar vessel with a single handle emerging from the beast's mouth,a elegant shaped spout formed with the head of an ancient bird and with archaic inscriptions on either side of the dropper.The surface of the waterdropper displays and even and beautiful brown patina.

This beautiful small ivory box comes from the Chinese city of Shandong and was probably used by the Scholar for multiple purposes,it is of flattened circular form incised around the cover and bottom with two narrow circles,around the body and on the bottom are many Chinese characters that must of had a very personal meaning to its owner.
Circa:Qing Dynasty,18thC/19thC. Condition:
