This is a superb ink and color portrait on silk of Soson Taesa,as he was usually known in Korea,who was one of the most important Zen Masters in Korean history who lived in the 16thC and was probably the most important Monk of

A rare and unusual three piece wooden seal in the form of a gourd.The carving is superb
as well as the rich patina formed over a period of time.The family characters are under the stem of the first piece and the pad that the seal is pressed on to is on the
base or third piece.Please note that on top of the stem portion there are carved family characters.The condition is excellent.Circa:
Choson Dynasty,19thC.Size:2 1/4"high.
A real find for the the collector of Korean seals.
