A very finely hand carved tiger maple rice cake press in the design of a leaf with the double happiness symbol carved in the center. The long handle allows the person to form the rice cake with the leaf design. Condition:Excellent with minor wear due to usage over time. Period:Choson DY,19thC. This large,beautiful wooden rice cake press hand carved with a bird sitting on a flowering branch,was used to make an impression on the rice cake dough. The back is cut out so that the hand can grip the wooden press. Condition:Excellent with minor wear due to usage. Period: Choson Dynasty,19thC.Size:6 1/2"Dia.x3/4". A rare and unusual three piece wooden seal in the form of a gourd.The carving is superb as well as the rich patina formed over a period of time.The family characters are under the stem of the first piece and the pad that the seal is pressed on to is on the base or third piece.Please note that on top of the stem portion there are carved family characters.The condition is excellent.Circa: Choson Dynasty,19thC.Size:2 1/4"high.
