This wonderful drum shaped Chinese pottery teapot is signed on top of the lid and well as on the base.(please note photo enlargements #5 and #6)The two rows of Chinese writing are translated as follows,"Love to enjoy drinking a cup of tea at night,no other thing can replace this favorite." The word Taancha is Cantonese slang meaning,"enjoy drinking tea."
Condition:Excellent,no chips,cracks or restorations. Circa:Late Qing Dynasty.(1895-1905)

Globular in shape this fine blue&white jarlet
is supported on a shallow foot ring with an 18thC(Yongzheng)six character mark within the ring.A finely painted Imperial five clawed dragon chases a flaming pearl above the rising waves and under a ruyi-head border.Condition:Perfect Circa:Qing Dynasty,probably Daoguang Period(1821-1850)
Size:2 1/8"high x 1 3/4"diameter.A fantastic
miniature blue&white jarlet from the mid-19thC,finely painted in typical Chinese
taste.
