A Fine Late 19thC Chinese Seal Paste Box
A very finely decorated,Republic Period (1908-1949), Chinese iron-red and gilded seal paste box,of circular form,the top cover is decorated in iron-red depicting two Buddhistic lions among the ribbons & flames with a brocade ball. The base is painted with four bats and on the recessed base is a finely drawn Juren Tang mark ( the name of a hall in the Imperial Palace that was often used as a mark on porcelain intended for Yuan Shikai,1859-1916 (important Chinese general & politician famous for his influence during the late Qing Dynasty) Condition:Excellent. Circa:Republic Period(1908-1949) Size: 3 5/8" Dia.
