This exceptional original Japanese woodblock by Utagawa Chikayoshi(active 1850's&70's)a "Kakemono-e"vertical diptych,is of a beautiful young Japanese woman wearing a "zukin"and carrying a "bangasa"walking across a bridge in the snow.Circa:Mid-19thC, Edo Period(dated 1865)& signed by the artist with his seal.Condition:Excellent color,fine state&impression with very light wear.Framed in traditional ebony frame. Size:9 3/4"x 28".This delicate&elegant Japanese woodblock is worthy of being in the finest of collections. An absolute standout!
