A Very Rare&Finely Painted 19thC Chinese Snuff Bottle
This artistic snuff bottle of cylindrical compressed form, painted in Chinese taste with firm control of the copper-red&cobalt blue pigments is truely a work of art that shows both movement and the talent of the artist,as well as rarity of subject.Painted with a continuous scene of three camels&their riders entering and passing through a wooden gate. Another unusual&rare thing on this snuff bottle is the mark on the base showing "a camel rider,in underglaze blue, standing with both hands raised above his head." Condition: Perfect&well hollowed.Circa:Qing Dynasty 1810-1880.Size:Height:2 1/2"(without stopper) This snuff bottle is a must for any serious collector.
