A Finely Carved Chinese Ivory Scholar's Vase.
A beautifully balanced 18thC elephant ivory carved miniature scholar's vase.Cylindrical is shape with a short flared neck sitting on a flat shoulder.This vase was usually seen decorating the scholar's desk with a small stem of jade flowers protruding from the neck.The vase is assembled into three pieces as noted in photo enlargement #5.The condition is excellent with only normal wear due to usage and handling.The age lines around the neck and shoulder areas of the vase as noted in photo enlargement #2.Circa:Qing Dynasty,18thCentury.Size:4 3/4"High.A superb addition to your collection of old miniature Chinese ivory which is quickly disapearing from the world's marketplace.
