This unusual quilt combines half Crazy blocks with the other half a variety of patterns making it a Sampler Quilt. Made mostly of velvets with some satins. Both the colors and fabrics combine to give rich, jewel tones. Embroidered with a variety of colors and stitching patterns. Made circa 1890, the time in which Crazy Quilts were the height of fashion. Vibrant Schoolhouse Quilt done in a combination of solid and calico fabrics. Both the scale and colors combine to make this a real eye popper. Front is in excellent condition. Lovely Princess Feather Quilt in which the tips and centers are whimsical takeoffs from the traditional pattern. Beautifully quilted. Crisp, unwashed condition. Has a faint area of light discoloration visible only in certain lights. Measures 86" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870's. The teal blue is a little more gay than shows on my monitor.
This Four Patch Crib Quilt is dense with color. It is made with a wonderful grouping of late 19th century fabrics. Excellent condition. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania origin. Measures 45 1/2" square.
This unusual Mennonite quilt appears to superimpose circles on the background of a crazy pattern. It has a wonderful balance between order and "crazy". Half and quarter circles are a clever way to frame the entire piece. Embroidered feather stitching in a variety of colors adds further interest. Made of wools with a cotton backing. A note sewn to the quilt reads " Mrs. CH Boyer from Aunt Hannah Walters". Lancaster County, Pa. origin; circa 1890. Outstanding condition.

It is not often that one finds a pair of Amish quilts. They were likely made for two siblings to take to their married homes rather than the twin beds for which we would use them. The Windmill Blades Log Cabins (aka Pineapple Log Cabin) are made of wool on front and back. In addition to being slightly different colors, they are different condition.
