Excellent condition Mennonite Crazy Quilt that is made primarily of wools and about 10% velvets. Each block seems like a whirling eddy giving the entire piece terrific movement. Strikingly contemporary in feel yet very traditional in the vine quilting in the outer border. Back is wool. Measures 84" square; Lebanon, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1900.

Three sterling pieces by the well known designer, Margot de Taxco. Pendant is a most unusual form for her. It measures 2" long x 1 1/4" wide. Chain may not be original to the piece but the clasp is too large to go through the jump ring on the pendant for easy removal; can be done by a jeweler should one want to remove it. Chain is 15 1/2" long. Small ballerina pin measures 1 1/2" long; large one is 2".

Two hinged sterling bangles made by Margot de Taxco, circa 1950. Each bracelet is made of three panels. Inside diameter of each is 2 1/2" and 1" in height. Extremely graceful designs, for which Margot was well known.

Necklace SOLD; Cufflinks $395. 

Rectangular links make for a classic, simple sterling necklace by Hector Aguilar. Measures 16 1/2" in length including the clasp. Cufflinks measure 3/4" square. Stone is most likely malachite in a bold, beautiful setting. Price is $395.

SOLD 

The subject matter, size and technique all combine to make this Fish Belt Buckle by Antonio Pineda one of extreme rarity. While several of his contemporaries used the married metal technique, I have not known Antonio to do so. The dark spots are due to the flash; they are not on the buckle. Measures 5" from head to tail and 2" top to bottom.

Book and Three Beads (on stand) SOLD Knot bracelet SOLD 

These are two extremely collectible ( and wearable) silver bracelets by Hector Aguilar. Book and three beads bracelets is difficult to measure because of the safety chain but it is close to 8" in length. Closes with a pin clasp typical of many of the early Mexican bracelets. Price is $1185. The knot bracelet measures 7 3/4" not including the push clasp. Cost is $1200.

It is extraordinary to find a Victorian Crazy quilt with its original pair of shams. The quilt is in as good condition as one ever finds this type. Less than 5% of the fabrics show any wear, most of which is visible in the thumbnail photos. The dates 1878 and 1887 are embroidered on the quilt. Wonderful triangle borders on both the quilt and shams are also covered with embroidery.
