Homemade sock cats, each with its own personality.
Left - made of a dark brown ribbed sock. Measures 15" long from tip of ears to end of tail. Has a small mend on the front and several tiny holes. He looks like he was on the losing end of a fight as his tail is seriously mangled.
Middle- the runt of the litter Measures 6" long and 2 3/4" at widest. The only one I've seen with buttons down the front - or are they meant to be nipples?

Two absolutely charming homemade Amish animals from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Dog is cotton flannel with shoe button eyes. Body is tan color that does not look faded until one sees the underside where it is a slightly darker tone. Excellent condition. Measures 9" long and 6 1/2" tall.
Horse is a much rarer form of Amish animal. This one has been dearly loved. Cotton stuffing shows through on his legs and a wrap put over his left foreleg. 18" long and 12" tall.
Wonderful saxophone made of tin cans, spoons, a funnel and a kazoo. Not sure whether or not it was meant to be played, but in either case, it makes a terrific sculpture. Measures 23 1/2" tall and 13" wide. Has a custom made iron stand. Circa 1930; found in Pennsylvania.
Charming Lancaster County Amish rag dolls that have all been well played with and loved.
Left - chambray dress with part of one sleeve ripped off. Black stockings and bloomers. 15 1/2" tall; circa 1930.

Two very expressive faces carved of stone by David George Marshall. Both have well textured hair and smooth faces.
She looks none too happy. Her hair, lips and eyes are painted. 6 1/2" tall and 5" wide. Mounted on a wood base.
His face is painted two shades of green. Lips, nose and eyes are dark brown. Measures Measures 7" tall and 3 3/4" wide. Professionally mounted on metal base.
Unique crocheted and appliqued figural wall hanging made by North Carolina artist Kate Clayton Donaldson (1864 - 1960) known as Granny Donaldson. Donaldson saw images of similar designs draped over the backs of cows in Italy and set out to make her own versions. Each of Donaldson's pieces is a different design. Made of homespun and dyed wools. Photo sculpture portraits are a well known form of folk art in Mexico. This example is particularly well done because of the fine, three dimensional draping of the sitter's dress as well as the painted and three dimensional jewelry. Circa 1940. Measures 12 1/2" tall and 8 1/4" wide. Base is nicely carved.
Homemade iron racing car with the lucky number 30 and "Eggy" written on the roof. Made of recycled metal with great attention to detail and accuracy. Measures 18" long and 14" wide. Circa 1930's; Pennsylvania origin.
Cleverly designed metal guitar made entirely of recycled parts. Center is a clock face; includes many nails,bolts,screws,coils and pieces I cannot identify. Back opens and can have clock works installed, although I believe it more than stands on its own as a musical sculpture. Measures 25 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide. Circa 1950?
