The pieces are small and the quilted vine in the outer border is a nicely scaled down version of what one would expect in a full size quilt. The inner zigzag border is an ideal frame. There is slight fraying on the binding but no other condition apologies. The quilt measures 29" x 39".

This Ohio Amish One Patch Quilt was made for a daybed but in Amish terms, is referred to as a hired man's quilt. It measures 35" x 68 1/2". This unusual size could be a wonderful wall hanging used vertically in a stairwell or horizontally over a bed or mantel. A star is quilted in each of the one patch blocks and cable quilted in the border. The colors have mellowed; there is slight unevenness in color but not enough to be a detraction. Circa 1920.
