Richly colored Amish One Patch quilt from Greene County, Pennsylvania. Seems to have been made by someone without tremendous financial resources but with a great color sense. Some of the blocks are pieced together with several pieces of the same materials. Front is wool; backing is cotton flannel. Measures 74" square; circa 1920.
Unusual hooked rug with two totally different textures. The interior striped portion is done in traditional hooking. The border is done by a technique known as prodding. The loose ends give a wonderful hairy effect. That, combined with the loose coloration make a terrific contrast with the structured pattern of the striped center. New York State origin; circa 1920. Pristine condition Tumbling Blocks Crib Quilt in a wonderful variety of late 19th century calico prints. Nice scale to the blocks. Lovely version of Birds in the Air quilt done with small indigo calico and solid white triangles. The triple border is actually made of the same pieces but when arranged in another way, they have a totally different look. Pristine condition; professionally laundered. Very well quilted. Variation of Lemoyne Stars Quilt pattern that may be unique. Central star is surrounded by a half star in each corner. White background is pieced so that the central star is in a square surrounded by a diamond. All done in a wonderful, richly colored plaid fabric. Nicely quilted. Professionally laundered; excellent condition. Some staining on back but none on the front. Measures 73" x 78". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.
This quilt is the fraternal twin of the Basket Weave Log Cabin Item #809351. There is the slightest variation in color tone but essentially, they are a pair. Both have same plaid binding but different backs. This is also in mint condition; lightweight wools. Measures 80"square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.

One Patch Doll Quilt with a nice assortment of late 19th century fabrics. Wonderful scale to the blocks with each patch less than 3/4" to a side. Some blocks charmingly made of several pieces.
