| Wool Crazy Quilt with some of the most unusual blocks that I have seen. The cauldron in the fireplace may be unique. Forty two star flag is a personal interpretation as, in 1890, the official flag went from 38 to 43 stars. Other blocks also include a man in the moon; house and horse with a cat. Repeated pieced fans give unity to this very bright and busy Crazy Quilt. Embroidery attaches the front to a backing; there is no batting. Lacking a binding but one could easily be added to finish this incredible piece. Vermont origin; measures 76" x 78". | ||||||||||
