A complete and rare Islamic bronze pen box and ink pot used by muslim scribes.The long containers held the reeds and the minaret
shaped container held the ink.

This book was composed by the 10'th Sikh Guru...Guru Gobind Singh.
The pages are hand written and colored in several different shades with outlines of leaves,flowers and rectangular panels.There is also an extensive use of gold on the pages.
Slight water staining.Otherwise in excellent condition.
The leather boards are detached but have been saved.

A set of 4 antique traditional painted playing cards from India.Similar in style and technique to Indian miniature paintings.
Gently used condition.Frame is a little battered.
Moghul period.Early playing cards from India are rectangular,
later playing cards are round.
Each card is 2 1/2 inches W. 4 inches H.
Framed 13 1/2 inches W. 6 1/2 inches H.
A very interesting group of 8 tiny gilt bronze Buddhas mounted on a thick plastic mount.7 of the buddhas are standing and 1 appears to be begging.Most likely from Burma or Thailand and of considerable age.
Possibly as early as the 17th C.
Figures are glued on the plastic.
Total length of the mount is 4 3/4 inches W. 1 1/2 inches H.
A rare and fascinating pair of himalayan vessels used for storing ink.One has an abstract pattern while the second vessel has an image of a 4 armed wrathful diety on either side.Truly museum pieces.
