|Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus canadensis) Plate #50 from the work "The North American Sylva..." by Francois Andre Michaux, the American Edition published in 1857. These are hand finished Colored engravings. The plates measure 10.5" x 7". This plate reads Pl. 30 in upper right,P.J.Bessa del. bottom left, Coffee Tree Gymnocladus canadensis at bottom center, and Renard sculpt bottom right. The Title Page reads: "The North American Sylva; or, the Description of the Forest Trees of the United States, Canada, and Nova Scotia. Considered Particularly with Respect for their Use in the Arts and Their Introduction into Commerce. To Which is added A Description of the Most Useful of the European Forest Trees. Illustrated with 156 Colored Engravings Translated from the French of F. Andrew Michaux, Member of the Philosophidcal Society of Philadelphia, Etc. Etc, With Notes by J.
