This difficult to find 1902 handbook utilized by Navy medical corps members and their instructors was issued from the Department of the Navy and is entitled, "Drill Regulations for the Hospital Corps United States Navy". Quite fascinating, the manual contains many illustrations noting basic recruit and squad techniques for formation and marching as well as proper technique and formation for establishing units of "stretcher squads" and all associated medical procedures. The manual is leather bound, complete, and has a total of 61 printed pages with 10 additional blank pages in the back suitable for note taking. Measurements are a convenient 5.25" X 4". The condition is generally good although the binding has separated and the covers show modest wear with one loose page and an edge piece missing. An interesting peek into the role and development of our armed medical forces at the turn of the century.
